Claude Bolling (1930-2020) was a composer, pianist and arranger.

He was a pioneer in bringing jazz into the world of classical music and has left an indelible mark on the contemporary music landscape.

Picnic Suite

“Picnic Suite” is a work for piano, guitar, bass and flute.

It will be interpreted by a group of high-profile musicians, professors of their respective musical instruments, teachers of the Liceo Musicale “A. Monti” of Asti.

Profiles:

Maestro Fiammetta Piovano, on the flute. She graduated with honors in transverse flute from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin, she specialized at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and at the University of Georgia in Athens. At a very young age she joined the Children’s Choir of the Teatro Regio and the G. Verdi Conservatory of Turin, taking part in more than two hundred performances and also covering solo roles. She was selected for the Professione Orchestra workshop organized by the RAI National Symphony Orchestra and the Pinerolo Academy and specialized in chamber music with the Zephyr International Chamber Music Festival in San Francisco. She teaches flute at the Liceo Musicale “A. Monti” of Asti and regularly performs as second flute and piccolo at the Monferrato Classic Orchestra and as first flute of the ECLETTICA Youth Orchestra, as well as numerous concerts in various concert events (CONTAMINAZIONI Festival, Stagione SCENA 1312, Santa Pelagia…).

Maestro Sebastian Roggero, on the piano. Graduated in piano at the Conservatory of Genoa, he subsequently obtained a high specialization diploma. He boasts collaborations with well-known national and international masters. He is regularly invited by prestigious associations and concert bodies such as the Philharmonic Society of Trento or the Theater de la Ville of Genoa. He carries out regular concert activity, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. Since 1998 he has been president of the Tempo Vivo Musical Association of Asti; he was artistic director of the Teatro Balbo in Canelli from 2007 to 2010; he was Artistic Director and Vice President of the Asti Academy of High Musical Specialization. In 2011 he was named Knight of San Secondo for musical merits.

Maestro Marco Topini, on guitar. Graduated in Classical Guitar at the G. Verdi Conservatory of Turin, he subsequently specialized in Composition and Orchestra Conducting at the Antonio Vivaldi Conservatory of Alessandria. For years he has alternated a dense concert activity as a soloist, in chamber groups and in extra-cultured bands. Alongside this, he works as a session man in the studio and teaches: for three years he leads the Laboratory of Amplification and Effects in Contemporary Music at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin and currently teaches Guitar and Together Music at the Liceo Musicale “A. Monti” of Asti.

Maestro Silvano Pasini, on bass. Violinist and conductor, he has carried out intense concert activity collaborating with orchestras such as: the Turin RAI Symphony Orchestra, the Bologna Chamber Orchestra, the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Engelberg Chamber Orchestra, the Columbus Orchestra, the Italian Symphony Orchestra, the Italian Classical Orchestra, the G. Cantelli Orchestra of Milan, the Encore Orchestra of Orlando (Florida), touring Europe, Japan, India and the United States. He has participated in television events such as Pavarotti & Friends and Castrocaro Festival, for Rai and Mediaset. He has collaborated in the recording studio and on tour with artists of the pop scene: Bocelli, Ruggeri, Battiato, Grignani, Renga, Baccini, il Volo. With the record company Sony JVC he recorded CDs with the soprano Miwako Matsumoto and the soprano Silvia Dalla Benetta. He recently staged, as director, Madama Butterfly, Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Tosca. He is Principal Conductor of the Asti Symphony Orchestra.
